The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to hundreds of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements.

Περιγραφή Θέσης - Ανάλυση Γνωστικού Αντικειμένου:
Η θέση Ερευνητή Β΄ βαθμίδας με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Υπολογιστικές Μέθοδοι στις Επιστήμες Διαστήματος» αφορά την ανάπτυξη και εφαρμογή προηγμένων υπολογιστικών τεχνικών, μεθόδων προσομοίωσης, στατιστικής ανάλυσης και τεχνητής νοημοσύνης για τη μελέτη, κατανόηση και αξιοποίηση δεδομένων που προέρχονται από διαστημικές αποστολές, δορυφόρους και επίγεια παρατηρητήρια. Το αντικείμενο της θέσης καλύπτει εφαρμογές σε τομείς αστροφυσικής ή/και παρατήρησης της Γης, με έμφαση στη σύνθεση, ερμηνεία και μοντελοποίηση μεγάλων δεδομένων.
ΑΠΑΙΤΟΥΜΕΝΑ ΤΥΠΙΚΑ ΠΡΟΣΟΝΤΑ:
Οι υποψήφιοι για την παραπάνω θέση πρέπει:
α) Να είναι κάτοχοι διδακτορικού διπλώματος αναγνωρισμένου ιδρύματος της ημεδαπής ή της αλλοδαπής, και να διαθέτουν τεκμηριωμένη εμπειρία και αποδεδειγμένο έργο στον σχεδιασμό, συντονισμό, διαχείριση ή/και εφαρμογή επιστημονικών και τεχνολογικών προγραμμάτων και έργων σε συνάφεια με το γνωστικό αντικείμενο της υπό προκήρυξης θέσης. Το αντικείμενο του ερευνητικού ή επιστημονικού έργου των υποψηφίων πρέπει να είναι συναφές με το γνωστικό αντικείμενο της προς πλήρωση θέσης, με έμφαση στους εξής δύο τομείς: 1. Ανάλυση δεδομένων που σχετίζονται με επιστήμες διαστήματος και συγκεκριμένα τους τομείς της Αστροφυσικής ή/και της παρατήρησης της Γης. 2. Περιγραφή Θέσης - Ανάλυση Γνωστικού Αντικειμένου:
Η Υπολογιστική Βιοποικιλότητα είναι ο επιστημονικός τομέας που επικεντρώνεται στον σχεδιασμό αλγορίθμων και μοντέλων — όπως μέθοδοι μηχανικής μάθησης, επιστήμη δεδομένων, διακριτοί και αριθμητικοί αλγόριθμοι, καθώς και κλασικές στατιστικές τεχνικές — και στην ανάπτυξη του αντίστοιχου λογισμικού και εργαλείων για την εξερεύνηση, ανάλυση και ερμηνεία δεδομένων βιοποικιλότητας (οικολογικών, γενετικών, βιογεωγραφικών, δορυφορικών ή δεδομένων αισθητήρων). Παράλληλα, δίνεται ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην ανάλυση και ερμηνεία πραγματικών/εμπειρικών δεδομένων βιοποικιλότητας, σε στενή συνεργασία με βιολόγους. Συνολικά, η Υπολογιστική Βιοποικιλότητα αποσκοπεί στη διευκόλυνση και ενίσχυση της έρευνας στον τομέα της βιοποικιλότητας.
ΑΠΑΙΤΟΥΜΕΝΑ ΤΥΠΙΚΑ ΠΡΟΣΟΝΤΑ:

The candidate will be responsible to process reports for illegal internet content or illegal internet activities. Individual tasks will include: • Reception of reports in a database or via email. • Processing of reports of illegal internet content within 24 hours after the reception. • Communication with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Greek Police, Facebook and Twitter administrators in case of illegal material or illegal behavior. • Provide feedback to the internet users who submitted the reports (if required) and advise them on how to deal with the illegal content for overcoming the problem. • Provide statistics on a monthly basis regarding the type of content of reports and the actions taken from the Hotline’s side.
