The project aims at digitising rare archival material, scanning 3D objects and interiors of the building and processing the results with computer vision algorithms. In addition, innovative virtual and augmented reality applications were developed achieving the immersion of the physical and online visitor within the digital environments. Additionally, two web portals have been developed to display all the digitised content (documents, books, objects, etc.) in order to enhance users’ experience through exploring the exhibits that the two museums of University of Crete (Museum of Education and the Museum of Medicine, Crete) host in their collections.
