Dr. Katerina Nikiforaki is a Senior Scientist (Scientist) at the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory (CBML) of the Institute of Informatics at the Foundation for Technology and Research - Greece (FORTH). She received her B.A. in Physics in 2003 from the University of Crete, her Masters Degree in Medical Physics in 2005, and her Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2020. She joined FORTH-IF in 2014 as a postgraduate student, then from 2002 to 2004 as a postgraduate student, and since 2020 she has been collaborating with the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory as a medical physicist. She has participated in national and European research projects focusing on multi-scale medical data analysis, quantitative imaging biomarker development and predictive modeling. Her expertise mainly includes advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocols, MR imaging quality assurance as well as medical image quantification and post-processing. She has more than 45 publications, including oral and poster presentations at international conferences, books and scientific journals.
