The Institute of Computer Science of FORTH warmly congratulates undergraduate scholars Theologos Kokkinellis and Emmanouil Patronakis, members of the student team Daedalus (0xdeada1u5) from the Computer Science Department at the University of Crete, for their outstanding achievement in the global cybersecurity competition HackerOne Ambassador World Cup.
The Greek national team, in which they participated, secured 3rd place worldwide, among numerous competitors from around the globe. The final phase of the competition took place in May in Dubai, featuring the top four national teams that emerged through several qualifying rounds.
The students excelled in the highly demanding and fast-evolving field of cybersecurity, successfully identifying and responsibly reporting critical vulnerabilities in real-world information systems as part of Bug Bounty activities.
This achievement once again highlights the strong presence and high-level expertise of ICS-FORTH undergraduate scholars and students of the Computer Science Department in international arenas, demonstrating their ability to thrive in global competitions and contribute actively to strengthening cybersecurity worldwide.
