Description We seek one (1) R&D Engineer in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to tens of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements. Requirements • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. • At least 10 years of experience, after the Ph.D., in computer architecture, digital systems, and hardware-based system design. • Demonstrated experience in reconfigurable computing (FPGA) and specialized architectures for high-performance or application-specific systems. • Strong track record of participation in EU-funded or internationally funded research projects. • Strong publication record in high-impact international journals and conferences (e.g., IEEE). • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across academia, research institutes, and industry. • Ability to contribute to project coordination, technical leadership, and deliverable preparation. • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). Στο πλαίσιο της υλοποίησης νέων αναπτυξιακών έργων πληροφορικής που έχει αναλάβει το Κέντρο Εφαρμογών και Υπηρεσιών Ηλεκτρονικής Υγείας του Ινστιτούτου Πληροφορικής του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας και Έρευνας), το Ινστιτούτο Πληροφορικής του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας και Έρευνας (ΙΠ-ΙΤΕ) προτίθεται να απασχολήσει έκτακτο προσωπικό, μέσω σύναψης σύμβασης εργασίας ιδιωτικού δικαίου ορισμένου χρόνου πλήρους απασχόλησης, και προσκαλεί φυσικά πρόσωπα να εκδηλώσουν το ενδιαφέρον τους για την ανάληψη των σχετικών έργων, σύμφωνα με τους όρους που αναφέρονται στη συνέχεια της παρούσας πρόσκλησης. Έχει την ευθύνη για την μελέτη, ανάπτυξη και τεκμηρίωση του Συστήματος Διαχείρισης Ποιότητας και Περιβαλλοντικής Διαχείρισης του Κέντρου Εφαρμογών και Υπηρεσιών Ηλεκτρονικής Υγείας καθώς και την ευθύνη για τα έγγραφα τεκμηρίωσης του Συστήματος Ποιότητας). • Αποτελεί τον εκπρόσωπο του Κέντρου σε θέματα ποιότητας στις σχέσεις της με τρίτους π.χ. πελάτες, σύμβουλοι, Φορείς Πιστοποίησης, Φορείς Διαπίστευσης κτλ. • Εποπτεύει την εφαρμογή του συστήματος σε όλα τα τμήματα, παρακολουθεί την απόδοσή τους και αναφέρεται σχετικά στον Επικεφαλής του Κέντρου προτείνοντας βελτιώσεις. • Συντονίζει και λαμβάνει μέρος στις επιθεωρήσεις, εποπτεύει και συντονίζει την υλοποίηση διορθωτικών ενεργειών, συμμετέχει στην αξιολόγηση και ανασκόπηση του συστήματος ποιότητας. • Καταγράφει και παρακολουθεί τα παράπονα των πελατών, επεξεργάζεται και συλλέγει ερωτηματολόγια ικανοποίησης πελατών. • Έχει την ευθύνη για την συντήρηση και καταγραφή του Μητρώου Εργαζομένων. • Οργανώνει και διαχειρίζεται το σύστημα καταγραφής προσόντων/ πτυχίων/ πιστοποιήσεων του προσωπικού και αξιολογεί τις ανάγκες για την παρακολούθηση νέων προγραμμάτων κατάρτισης ανά εργαζόμενο. Υλοποιεί τις διαδικασίες αξιολόγησης του προσωπικού, εξασφαλίζοντας την παρακολούθηση τις περιοχές βελτίωσης. • Σχεδιάζει και υλοποιεί τις δράσεις επιμόρφωσης και εκπαίδευσης του προσωπικού. • Διεκπεραιώνει τις απαιτούμενες ενέργειες για την διασφάλιση ενός ομαλού εργασιακού κλίματος.

Περιγραφή Θέσης - Ανάλυση Γνωστικού Αντικειμένου:
Η θέση Ερευνητή Β΄ βαθμίδας με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Υπολογιστικές Μέθοδοι στις Επιστήμες Διαστήματος» αφορά την ανάπτυξη και εφαρμογή προηγμένων υπολογιστικών τεχνικών, μεθόδων προσομοίωσης, στατιστικής ανάλυσης και τεχνητής νοημοσύνης για τη μελέτη, κατανόηση και αξιοποίηση δεδομένων που προέρχονται από διαστημικές αποστολές, δορυφόρους και επίγεια παρατηρητήρια. Το αντικείμενο της θέσης καλύπτει εφαρμογές σε τομείς αστροφυσικής ή/και παρατήρησης της Γης, με έμφαση στη σύνθεση, ερμηνεία και μοντελοποίηση μεγάλων δεδομένων.

Περιγραφή Θέσης - Ανάλυση Γνωστικού Αντικειμένου:
Η Υπολογιστική Βιοποικιλότητα είναι ο επιστημονικός τομέας που επικεντρώνεται στον σχεδιασμό αλγορίθμων και μοντέλων — όπως μέθοδοι μηχανικής μάθησης, επιστήμη δεδομένων, διακριτοί και αριθμητικοί αλγόριθμοι, καθώς και κλασικές στατιστικές τεχνικές — και στην ανάπτυξη του αντίστοιχου λογισμικού και εργαλείων για την εξερεύνηση, ανάλυση και ερμηνεία δεδομένων βιοποικιλότητας (οικολογικών, γενετικών, βιογεωγραφικών, δορυφορικών ή δεδομένων αισθητήρων). Παράλληλα, δίνεται ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην ανάλυση και ερμηνεία πραγματικών/εμπειρικών δεδομένων βιοποικιλότητας, σε στενή συνεργασία με βιολόγους. Συνολικά, η Υπολογιστική Βιοποικιλότητα αποσκοπεί στη διευκόλυνση και ενίσχυση της έρευνας στον τομέα της βιοποικιλότητας.

We seek an experienced member for our team, holder of an electrical engineering degree and a strong background in software development for electromagnetics simulations. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the project VisorSurf - A Hardware Platform for Software-driven Functional Metasurfaces, funded under Horizon 2020, H2020-FETOPEN-1-2016-2017 In the context of VisorSurf project, FORTH, along with the project’s partners, will develop a software framework for designing, profiling and evaluating software-driven metasurfaces. The developed framework will combine a wide array of fully customizable electromagnetic simulations, to study and model the process of tuning a metasurface for a required end-functionality. As such, prior experience in electromagnetic simulation approaches, specialized parallel processing techniques and the associated tools, as well as the ability to communicate with and work as a member of an international, multicultural research consortium, are all very important aspects for the position offered.

We seek an experienced member for our team, holder of a PhD degree in electrical engineering and a strong background in electromagnetic testbed setup and measurements. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the project VisorSurf - A Hardware Platform for Software-driven Functional Metasurfaces, funded under Horizon 2020, H2020-FETOPEN-1-2016-2017 In the context of VisorSurf project, FORTH, along with the project’s partners, he/she will setup the experimental testbed required for profiling and evaluating software-driven metasurfaces. The testbed will support a wide array of fully customizable, parametric electromagnetic measurements, to study and evaluate the process of tuning a metasurface for a required end-functionality. As such, prior experience in electromagnetic simulation testbeds, hands-on experience in custom setups and measurements in anechoic chambers and the associated tools (especially for evaluating radiation directivity), as well as the ability to communicate with and work as a member of an international, multicultural research consortium, are all very important aspects for the position offered.
