We seek one experienced member for our team, one Computer Scientist or Engineer, with background in European and/or National ICT RTD projects, to contribute to the research and development activities of the KOIOS, PERCEIVE, and USSPs projects. The candidate should have expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational vision, with an emphasis on multi-modal data processing and AI-driven decision support systems. This includes experience in robust and frugal AI methodologies for situational awareness and decision-making in defense applications (KOIOS), AI-powered cultural heritage analysis and immersive experiences (PERCEIVE), and autonomous maritime surveillance technologies (USSPs). The successful candidate will work on integrating AI models with sensory data fusion, developing explainable and resilient AI pipelines, and enhancing operational autonomy across diverse application domains.

The candidate should have strong experience in AI-powered perception, multi-sensor fusion, and human-computer interaction, focusing on integrating AI models with visual, textual, and environmental data for applications in defense, cultural informatics, and maritime surveillance. This position requires advanced computational vision techniques, deep learning for scene understanding, explainable AI, and frugal AI methodologies to develop robust, real-time, and interpretable models. The researcher will be responsible for advancing AI-driven situational awareness and decision making frameworks by combining multi-modal data processing, generative AI, and simulation-driven model evaluation across the three projects.
