CyberShield4Health unites a European consortium of healthcare clusters; SHIELD (BE), TALOS (GR) ULSTMAD
(PT) and PEGASUS (IT), pilot sites, and service providers to strengthen the resilience of healthcare organisations. The
project brings together strong partners in Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and HL7 EU/HoF – creating EUwide
reach. This impactful project is European in scale and ambition, building on the track record of SHIELD, Belgium’s
national healthcare cybersecurity cluster with over 90 healthcare providers, scaling up to 5 clusters with >150 healthcare
providers Europe-wide.

Measurable improvements in resilience will be achieved in less than two years. SHIELD’s demand-driven, communitybased
approach combines NIS2 maturity assessments, framework agreements, training, and pilots. CyberShield4Health
will scale this model cross-border through pilots in multiple countries where solutions are validated and adopted. The
project guarantees both depth and breadth: hands-on deployment in pilot sites combined with wide dissemination.

The consortium integrates leading service providers into SOC services, training, pentesting, and awareness programmes,
alongside Europe’s major healthcare clusters. This structure, proven in Belgium, is now scaled up across Europe.
Co-created with service providers, it is unmatched in the field. CyberShield4Health operationalises the EU Action
Plan on Cybersecurity in Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, offering a sustainable pathway to NIS2 compliance and
tangible resilience, including targeted ransomware mitigation and incident response support. Beyond compliance, it
delivers societal impact: safeguarding patient safety, ensuring uninterrupted care, protecting trust in digital health, and
reducing the cost of cyberattacks. By making healthcare infrastructures more resilient, CyberShield4Health strengthens
confidence in digital health, supports economic competitiveness, and contributes to Europe’s digital sovereignty.
