Description The candidate will participate in the R&D work of FORTH within the ICUdata4EU project. We are seeking a Software security Engineer, to contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of cybersecurity frameworks for the components of the European ICU Data Space. Required qualifications: o Bachelor in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent o Good knowledge of English Desired qualifications: o Experience with encryption, authentication, and authorization technologies to ensure cybersecurity and privacy of patient data. o Experience with biomedical data analysis. o Knowledge of biomedical data standards and cybersecurity frameworks. o Experience with scientific programming using MATLAB, Python, C++, and R, including machine learning and deep learning frameworks.

We seek one (1) student enrolled in a University MSc Program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EC-funded project dAIEdge. The dAIEDGE project aims to reinforce the research and innovation value chains to accelerate the digital and green transitions through advanced edge AI technologies, applications, and innovations, building on Europe's existing assets and industrial strengths. The key aim is to support and ensure rapid development, market uptake and open strategic sovereignty for Europe in the critical technologies for distributed edge AI (hardware, software, frameworks, tools). The ultimate goal for the dAIEDGE is to support Europe to become a global center of excellence with unique human-centered edge AI competence addressing the social and economic challenges and the needs of the citizens and society.

The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to hundreds of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements.
