[ICS-2465] Call for expression of interest for one (1) position of an R&D Engineer in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Description We seek one (1) R&D Engineer in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to tens of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements. Requirements • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. • At least 10 years of experience, after the Ph.D., in computer architecture, digital systems, and hardware-based system design. • Demonstrated experience in reconfigurable computing (FPGA) and specialized architectures for high-performance or application-specific systems. • Strong track record of participation in EU-funded or internationally funded research projects. • Strong publication record in high-impact international journals and conferences (e.g., IEEE). • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across academia, research institutes, and industry. • Ability to contribute to project coordination, technical leadership, and deliverable preparation. • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). Desired qualifications Knowledge of and/or experience in and/or strong interest for: • Technology transfer, industrially-oriented research, or prototype validation for high-TRLs.

Έχει την ευθύνη για την μελέτη, ανάπτυξη και τεκμηρίωση του Συστήματος Διαχείρισης Ποιότητας και Περιβαλλοντικής Διαχείρισης του Κέντρου Εφαρμογών και Υπηρεσιών Ηλεκτρονικής Υγείας καθώς και την ευθύνη για τα έγγραφα τεκμηρίωσης του Συστήματος Ποιότητας). • Αποτελεί τον εκπρόσωπο του Κέντρου σε θέματα ποιότητας στις σχέσεις της με τρίτους π.χ. πελάτες, σύμβουλοι, Φορείς Πιστοποίησης, Φορείς Διαπίστευσης κτλ. • Εποπτεύει την εφαρμογή του συστήματος σε όλα τα τμήματα, παρακολουθεί την απόδοσή τους και αναφέρεται σχετικά στον Επικεφαλής του Κέντρου προτείνοντας βελτιώσεις. • Συντονίζει και λαμβάνει μέρος στις επιθεωρήσεις, εποπτεύει και συντονίζει την υλοποίηση διορθωτικών ενεργειών, συμμετέχει στην αξιολόγηση και ανασκόπηση του συστήματος ποιότητας. • Καταγράφει και παρακολουθεί τα παράπονα των πελατών, επεξεργάζεται και συλλέγει ερωτηματολόγια ικανοποίησης πελατών. • Έχει την ευθύνη για την συντήρηση και καταγραφή του Μητρώου Εργαζομένων. • Οργανώνει και διαχειρίζεται το σύστημα καταγραφής προσόντων/ πτυχίων/ πιστοποιήσεων του προσωπικού και αξιολογεί τις ανάγκες για την παρακολούθηση νέων προγραμμάτων κατάρτισης ανά εργαζόμενο. Υλοποιεί τις διαδικασίες αξιολόγησης του προσωπικού, εξασφαλίζοντας την παρακολούθηση τις περιοχές βελτίωσης. • Σχεδιάζει και υλοποιεί τις δράσεις επιμόρφωσης και εκπαίδευσης του προσωπικού. • Διεκπεραιώνει τις απαιτούμενες ενέργειες για την διασφάλιση ενός ομαλού εργασιακού κλίματος.

We seek one Developer/Engineer in IoT and sensing technologies. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH-ICS in the context of H2020 project “sustAGE - Smart environments for per-son-centered sustainable work and well-being”, funded under Horizon 2020, SC1-DTH-2018-2020 and will work on IoT related aspects. sustAGE is coordinated by FORTH-ICS and aims towards a smart person-centered solution that will func-tion in real environments inside and outside the workplace providing: (i) workplace and health surveil-lance monitoring, (ii) personalized recommendations for physical and mental health improvement and (iii) decision support in optimizing workforce productivity via human to task/job allocation. The mani-fold contribution focuses on the support of the employment and later retirement of older adults from work and the optimization of the workforce management. sustAGE explores two industry domains with significant challenges and requirements: a) Manufacturing supported by Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF) responsible for the research activities of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), one of the largest European automotive industries and b) Transportation & logistics supported by Heraklion Port Authority S.A. (HPA) that manages the second most popular Greek port in passenger traffic. We seek an engineer/data scientist for our team with a strong background in machine learning and/or statistical analysis. The candidate will participate in our new interdisciplinary project entitled “Dissecting Multi-Neuronal Modules of Computation in the Neocortex” funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) and the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) for the support of postdoctoral researchers at the Institute of Computer Science at FORTH. The main focus of the project is the identification of the functional networks in the primary visual cortex. For that, we apply various machine-learning and statistical analysis algorithms to discover multi-neuronal motifs on data collected in vivo, using 2-photon imaging. Researchers from Harvard Medical School participate actively in this exciting project.
