[ICS-2454] Call for expression of interest for one (1) position of an R&D Engineer in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
We seek one (1) R&D Engineer in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to hundreds of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements.

Computational Biodiversity is the scientific discipline that focuses on the design of algorithms and models — such as machine learning methods, data science approaches, discrete and numerical algorithms, as well as classical statistical techniques — and on the development of corresponding software and tools for the exploration, analysis, and interpretation of biodiversity data (ecological, genetic, biogeographical, satellite, or sensor data). At the same time, particular emphasis is placed on the analysis and interpretation of real/empirical biodiversity data, in close collaboration with biologists. Overall, Computational Biodiversity aims to facilitate and enhance research in the field of biodiversity.

[ICS-1115] Early-stage researcher in storage architectures using emerging storage devices
The goal of the position is to examine how future storage systems should be architected to take advantage of new storage devices for improving the capabilities and efficiency of Big Data applications.
