[ICS-2403] Call for expression of interest for one (1) position of student enrolled to a University MSc Program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
We seek one (1) student enrolled to a University MSc Program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the EuroHPC JU-funded project NET4EXA. The NET4EXA project aims to create an advanced interconnect, which will scale to hundreds of thousands of computing nodes and will support modern HPC systems that are designed for massive AI tasks, such as the training of Large Language Models. The interconnect forms the backbone of such systems, and their overall performance is intimately tied to the scalability of the network and its tight coupling with the high-end compute elements Requirements • Enrolled to a University graduate MSc Program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering • Physical presence at FORTH, Heraklion, Crete for the duration of the position • Demonstrated experience with the C language. • Demonstrated knowledge with the runtime environment and compilations tools for HPC accelerators, such as NVIDIA GPU’s. • Demonstrated knowledge with workload-driven evaluation of GPU accelerators using AI frameworks, such a PyTorch or TensorFlow. • Demonstrated experience with communication protocols and abstractions for high-speed interconnects that provide RDMA-based operations. • Fluent knowledge of English. • Names of at least three professional references

[ICS-2074] Call for expression of interest for a position of Software Engineer in the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH)
The candidate will participate in the R&D work of FORTH within the TRUSTEE project. We are looking for an experienced developer to be part of the team designing and implementing a system to enable trusted and private preserving computing platforms to access cross border federation of data in order to improve the availability and quality of multidisciplinary big-data sources, from various sectors including the health domain, in a trustworthy, fair, responsible, and environmentally friendly manner, across the data lifecycle to enable data sharing and manipulation, in compliance with prevailing and emerging legislation. The candidate will be involved in defining policies regarding sharing and access of knowledge, perform a systematic gap analysis with a focus on European Data spaces elicit the TRUSTEE Stakeholders requirements given the outcomes of the project analysis for barriers & contributing factors regarding solutions acceptance & assure TRUSTEE will meet these needs and support the design and define in detail the overall TRUSTEE architecture of the system.

Η κατανόηση του τρόπου με τον οποίο τα δίκτυα από κύτταρα του φλοιού συντονίζονται και αλληλο-επιδρούν μεταξύ τους, προκειμένου να επεξεργάζονται τις πληροφορίες και να επιτρέπουν στα κυκλώματα του φλοιού να τροποποιούνται κατά τη διάρκεια της μάθησης είναι περιορισμένη. Ανωμαλίες στη λειτουργική συνδεσιμότητα των νευρωνικών δικτύων, ειδικά στον οπτικό φλοιό, χαρακτηρίζουν το Alzheimer's disease (AD). Το προτεινόμενο διεπιστημονικό έργο αφορά τον χαρακτηρισμό in vivo της αρχιτεκτονικής των λειτουργικών δικτύων του οπτικού φλοιού και των αλλαγών τους κατά τη διάρκεια της εξέλιξης της νόσου. Τα μοτίβα λειτουργικής συνδεσιμότητας μεταξύ των νευρώνων θα παρακολουθούνται, σε συνθήκες ηρεμίας και μάθησης. Επίσης, οι ιδιότητες της οπτικής απόκρισης θα καταγράφονται ως συνάρτηση της εξέλιξης της νόσου. Οι αναλυτές δεδομένων σε συνεργασία με την ομάδα του έργου θα ασχοληθούν με την ανάλυση των δεδομένων αυτών, εφαρμόζοντας αλγορίθμους μηχανικής μάθησης και στατιστικής ανάλυσης. Η ομάδα συνεργάζεται στενά με την Ιατρική Σχολή του Harvard.
