"In the CHANIA TURKISH ARCHIVE project, an archiving and cataloguing system has been created, for use with the highly significant Turkish Archive of Chania. The books and the documents which are filed in such a system often are of great cultural and historical value. The system allows the preservation of documents and facilitates the work, as well as the hygiene, of researchers since it allows the study of documents without making use of the originals. The system developed for the digitization, management, classification and annotation of the archival resources of the Turkish Archive of Chania, supports document descriptions, transcriptions, translations (or copies in case the original document is in Greek) according to the international archival standards."
