The Accessible Digital Academic Textbooks Information System ( also referenced as ERMOFILOS) is a web-based platform that delivers accessible digital versions of academic textbooks to eligible students with print disabilities, through a set of online services.
It supports distinct user roles (Students, Accessibility Unit administrators, Publishers) and core workflows such as: user self-registration and role/permission management, student requests for converting textbooks (selecting titles from their EUDOXUS list), request tracking, publisher upload of original digital files, production and management of accessible formats with repository registration, copyright protection via watermarking (PDF/DOCX), and secure distribution of the resulting files with usage licenses, plus operational statistics (e.g., response times and request fulfillment metrics).
The system is accessed via a web browser (including mobile devices), provides an accessible user interface with optional personalized accessibility preferences, and interoperates with external systems such as EUDOXUS, my-uni, PERGAMOS, and myaccess for data exchange and repository/backup purposes.
