| Toni Hirvonen received M.Sc. (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Acoustics and Audio Signal Processing) and D.Sc. (Acoustics and Audio Signal Processing, Information Science) degrees from the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK), Espoo, Finland in 2002 and 2007, respectively. He did his Master's Thesis for Nokia, and after graduation, joined the Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics' Spatial Sound group at TKK. There he did his doctoral thesis work as Researcher, and spent the early 2008 as Postdoctoral Researcher. Staring from October 2008, he has been a Postdoctoral Researcher Marie Curie Fellow in the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH-ICS), Heraklion, Crete. His current research interests include signal processing, reproduction, and psychoacoustics related to audio coding, and spatial- and multichannel audio. Dr. Hirvonen is a member of Audio Engineering Society. |
