Description We seek a highly motivated student enrolled to a University MSc Program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering to join our team. Description The candidate will participate in the R&D work of FORTH within the ICUdata4EU project. We are seeking a Software security Engineer, to contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of cybersecurity frameworks for the components of the European ICU Data Space. Required qualifications: o Bachelor in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent o Good knowledge of English Desired qualifications: o Experience with encryption, authentication, and authorization technologies to ensure cybersecurity and privacy of patient data. o Hands-on experience with identity & access management for sensitive data: OpenID Connect / OAuth2, an IdP such as Keycloak, token validation, and service-to-service authentication. o Experience designing and implementing authorization models — RBAC/ABAC/ReBAC (e.g. OpenFGA, Zanzibar-style) — for multi-role, multi-tenant clinical or research settings, applying least-privilege principles. o Containerised deployment and secure operation: Docker / Docker Compose, reverse-proxy configuration, TLS termination and certificate management. o Demonstrable experience building production-grade backend services in Python (FastAPI or equivalent) over relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL). o Testing and CI/CD practice (unit/integration tests, GitLab CI), plus security testing, monitoring and logging.

[ICS-1171] Two positions: one (1) Post‐doctoral research associate (part‐time) and one (1) Electronics and hardware design engineer (part‐time)

We seek two experienced members for our team, one member with Post‐doctoral research associate (part‐time) and one member with Electronics and hardware design engineer (part‐time), with background in European Research Projects. The candidates will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH in the context of the project ECOSCALE: Energy‐efficient Heterogeneous COmputing at exaSCALE. In order to reach exascale performance current HPC servers need to be improved. Simple scaling is not a feasible solution due to the increasing utility costs and power consumption limitations. Apart from improvements in implementation technology, what is needed is to refine the HPC application development as well as the architecture of the future HPC systems. ECOSCALE tackles this challenge by proposing a scalable programming environment and hardware architecture tailored.
