"The ITHACA project aimed to develop an integrated application support system which was based on object oriented techniques. The application development environment, where ICS was mostly involved, consisted of a set of tools which aided the application programmer in specifying requirements and modeling his application, designing the objects needed by the application and selecting pertinent objects from the current software base, in developing new objects when necessary, and in configuring the applications."
