Semantic Methods for Security Policies and Trust Management "Security policies" are a common tool for defining the security behaviour of a complex system. Since such policies are often specified by disntinct parties, heterogeneous policies often have to be merged. As part of its involvement in the REWERSE Network of Excellence, the Information Systems Laboratory conducts research on the design and deployment of rule-based languages for specifying, composing and enforcing security policies. In additon, methods for validation of policies and change management are being studied. Related to this topic is our work on the Semantic Web, where security and trust are considered key issues.
