Network paths usually exhibit asymmetric performance, and monitoring tools that are unable to discriminate their measurements in each direction fail to give an important piece of information. According to common sense, one-way measurements require hardware clock synchronization, which is expensive and troublesome. We show how relevant one-way measurements can be effectively performed without hardware clock synchronization, with a surprising application of a computer graphics algorithm: the Graham Scan.
