International Conferences

  • A new International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction (UAHCI) has been established:

    • the first such event, UAHCI 2001, took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 5-10 August 2001 (in cooperation with HCI International 2001).
    • UAHCI 2003 was organised in Crete, Greece, 22-27 June 2003 (in cooperation with HCI International 2003).
    • UAHCI 2005 was organised in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 22-27 July 2005 (in cooperation with HCI International 2005).
    • UAHCI 2007 was organised in Beijing, P.R China, 22-17 July 2007 (in cooperation with HCI International 2007).
    • UAHCI 2009 was organised in San Diego, California, USA, 1924 July 2009 (in cooperation with HCI International 2009).
    • UAHCI 2011 will take place in Orlando, Florida, USA, in July 2011 (in cooperation with HCI International 2011).

International Working Group & Workshops

  • The ERCIM Working Group "User Interfaces for All" (UI4ALL) was active from the beginning of 1995 to the end of 2006 against the background of European R&D activities which had analysed the requirements, identified the viability, and demonstrated the feasibility of constructing "user interfaces for all", i.e., interfaces that address the individual user requirements of potentially all users.
  • This ERCIM Working Group has regularly held a Workshop on the topic of User Interfaces for All since its establishment in 1995 (list of workshops organised ).

International Journal



  • Results of R&D work have appeared in more than 570 publications in leading archival journals, tutorials during international conferences, international encyclopaedias and books.
