Rationale
]
Work
I work in the
Biomedical
Informatics Laboratory of the
Institute of
Computer Science at
FORTH.
My work has been concentrated on the development of various
health regional
network services for the provision of an integrated electronic healthcare
record. More specifically I have been the primary implementer of
various
OMG
specifications, such as the
Person Identification Service (PIDS) and the
Clinical Observation Access Service (COAS). The technology used was
CORBA
with the help of the excellent open source CORBA
ORBs,
TAO and
JacORB.
Currently, the focus of our work is on applying the next
generation middleware platforms, such as the
Web
Services and the
GRID,
for the delivery of electronic health services.
