SIMASIA - Multilingual Semantic Lexicon For Text Retrieval & Machine-Aided Translation

The project aims in creating a multilingual semantic lexicon associating semantic with syntactic information, allowing not only the retrieval through simple or composite terms but also the retrieval of multilingual text that is related with the meaning that convey whole phrases. In the same context, the lexicon will facilitate the solution of problems concerning syntactic and lexical ambiguity in multilingual environments, thus upgrading the performance of existing multilingual text retrieval systems, as well as machine-aided translation systems.
