DELTOS - Documentation system for the administration of site monuments and preserved buildings of Crete
The main scientific aim of DELTOS project was the development of an
information system covering the needs for documentation, conservation
and administration of site monuments and preserved buildings.
DELTOS is an information
system, intended chiefly to address the needs of administrative documentation
of site monuments and preserved buildings, including cartographic, geometric
and photographic representation. The system also supports multimedia
administration functions. DELTOS
is designed to operate in a centralized or distributed environment and
to co-operate with other systems or databases, thus to be used as building
block in configuring a geographically distributed national record of
monuments.
The system has been installed and is in use at the Archeological Museum
of Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
