Logo description
The logo design shows the star constellation Virgo which can be seen in earth's northern
hemisphere (mostly at night, or on days with eclipses of the sun; additional constraints
apply :-)). Some of the stars are replaced by the letters V, i, r, g, and o. The stars and
the blue and yellow colors give the logo a rough resemblance to the European flag, indicating
that VIRGO is a European network. The lens flare (created with a Photoshop filter by that name)
adds some more hip to the design.
A version with a higher resolution and more vivid colors for printing can be retrieved
here.
The logo was designed by Erich Rome of GMD.
