A Brief History of Computational Medicine Laboratory

The Laboratory was founded in 1985 by Professor Stelios Orphanoudakis (1948 - 2005) who led the laboratory until March 2005. From the start the laboratory was named "Center for Medical Informatics & Health Telematics Applications". In subsequent changes and expansions it was renamed into "eHealth Laboratory" and most recently into "Computational Medicine Laboratory". From the start the direction of its research and development (R&D) activities were very carefully selected, so that they would always be at the forefront of biomedical informatics and eHealth research.
